Review a Contract and Ask AI Questions
Open any contract in your library and use AI chat to extract specific information, ask plain-language questions, and query across your entire portfolio.

Overview
This flow opens an existing contract and uses AI chat to ask questions and extract specific information — either from a single document or across your entire contract library.
Step 1: Find the contract in the Library
Click Library in the left sidebar. Use the Search contracts box or filter by Division, Status, Type, Company, Owner, Expiration Date, or Label. For compound logic, click Access advanced filters table.
Step 2: Open the contract
Click the contract name. The PDF renders on the left. Use the page number input to jump to specific pages and the zoom dropdown to adjust the view.
Step 3: Read the contract
Scroll through the document. The right panel shows Overview and Extracted Data tabs for quick reference of key clause data.
Step 4: Open the Chat tab and ask a question
Click the Chat tab in the right panel (next to Extracted Data). Type a question in the text box.
Example questions to get you started:
What are the payment terms?Does this contract have a limitation of liability cap? What is the amount?What are the termination for convenience provisions?When does this contract expire and what are the renewal options?Are there any data processing or AI usage restrictions?What is the governing law?Summarise the key obligations for each party.
Step 5: Ask follow-up questions
The chat is conversational. Ask follow-ups to go deeper on any clause or topic without starting over.
Step 6: Use the Global AI Chat for cross-library questions
Click AI Chat in the left sidebar for questions that span your whole contract library:
Which contracts expire in the next 6 months?Which suppliers have rebate clauses?Show me all contracts missing a data processing clause.What is our total contract value for IT suppliers?
Tips
Tip: The contract-level chat knows which document you're reading. The global AI Chat does not — use contract-level chat for document-specific questions.
Note: There is no annotation or highlight layer on the PDF viewer. You cannot mark up clauses directly.
